The First 150 A90 Supra’s Sold in Minutes

Thursday saw the first allocation of the all new A90 Supra for Australia and they were all gone in less than 10 minutes.

The reservation window opened at 12:00 AEST and by 12:07 the first 100 orders were reserved. Toyota Australia was also recently able to secure additional units, allowing this first window to be extended to 150 reservations in total. This full allocation was snapped up within the first 22 minutes of the window opening.

This is the first online sales of this type by Toyota Australia with the reservations made through 63 dealers with a broad spread around all states and territories including a strong representation from rural dealerships.

Overall demand was skewed towards the high-grade GTS with more than 80 per cent of orders for this variant.

The most popular colours ordered were Nurburg Matte Grey, Goodwood Grey, Monza Red and Fuji White with the first year’s allocation of the highly limited Nurburg Matte Grey now completely sold out.

The very first reservation was received from Melbourne for a GT grade in Monza Red*.

Toyota Australia Vice President Sales and Marketing, Sean Hanley said Toyota was pleased with the response.

“We know through our own research that there was a high demand and excitement for GR Supra in the market. We did not expect that selling online would be an issue for us but were just amazed at how quickly the first one hundred reservations were made”.

“We will work hard with our Supra concierge to make the experience for these customers something special, befitting this iconic sportscar”, he said.

Successful customers can expect to receive a phone call from Toyota’s dedicated Supra concierge in the following couple of weeks to confirm their preferences and order, which will include confirming a further $4,000 deposit.

The next reservation window will be opening on July 17th at 12:00 noon AEST with the exact number of reservations to be made available still being confirmed.
